- Effective communication styles are used to develop trust, confidence and rapport.
- Mentoring arrangements on how the relationship will be conducted are made.
- Expectations and goals are agreed.
- Input from relevant personnel is sought if required.
- Provide mentoring support
- Individual is assisted to identify and evaluate opportunities to achieve agreed goals and development activities.
- Personal experiences and knowledge are shared with the individual to assist in progress to agreed goals and development.
- A supportive environment is provided to allow the individual to develop towards the achievement of goals.
- Individual is encouraged to make decisions and take responsibility for the courses of action or solutions under consideration.
- Assistance and guidance are provided in a manner that allows the individual to retain responsibility for achievement of their goals.
- Evaluate effectiveness of mentoring
