Performance Evidence

Evidence required to demonstrate competence must satisfy all of the requirements of the elements and performance criteria. To be deemed competent the candidate must be assessed using at least one of the guidelines listed in the Range of. If not otherwise specified the candidate must demonstrate evidence of performance of the following on at least one occasion.

interpreting, analysing and applying relevant legislative requirements, complex industry codes and standards

collating and analysing information

providing advice and feedback

communicating principles of relevant guidelines and putting into context

initiating problem solving

managing risks on a specific project or site

accessing and interpreting risk management principles

managing risk control measures

integrating requirements of risk management plans

analysing records of water quality incidents


Knowledge Evidence

Evidence required to demonstrate competence must satisfy all of the requirements of the elements and performance criteria. If not otherwise specified the depth of knowledge demonstrated must be appropriate to the job context of the candidate.

Operational knowledge of:

relevant guidelines guiding principles

framework for the management of drinking water quality (including the twelve elements)

established organisational risk management procedures

water quality risk assessment and control procedures

water cycle

ecologically sustainable development

water quality risk factors and performance indicators

relevant legislation, codes, standards

chronic and acute health impacts from human exposure

concept of the Disability Adjusted Life Year (DALY)
