Performance Evidence

Evidence required to demonstrate competence must satisfy all of the requirements of the elements and performance criteria. If not otherwise specified the candidate must demonstrate evidence of performance of the following on at least one occasion.

reading and interpreting plans and drawings, and relevant standards and instructions

using tools and specific water equipment including valve keys and standpipes

selecting Personal Protection Equipment

maintaining tools

communicating with customers

determining location, size, utilities and services from plans

applying excavation techniques including potholing and cable location

organising traffic management and concrete cutters

conducting risk assessments on site for safety, environmental factors

restoring work site

implementing isolations

operating valves

planning work

complying with water off notices, flow control and shut plans, and permits to work

charging and discharging water mains

restoring site


Knowledge Evidence

Evidence required to demonstrate competence must satisfy all of the requirements of the elements and performance criteria. If not otherwise specified the depth of knowledge demonstrated must be appropriate to the job context of the candidate.
