Elements and Performance Criteria

1. Plan and prepare work
   • Determine work requirements for operation and monitoring of bulkwater transfer systems are in line with specifications and instructions.
   • Perform site check to prevent damage to other utilities and the environment.
   • Select and check equipment to meet safety requirements of task and site.
   • Select, fit and use personal protective equipment.
2. Monitor system performance and usage
   • Conduct routine monitoring programs according to organisational maintenance schedules.
   • Identify fluctuations in demand and system changes causing dirty water.
   • Collect, analyse and record data on system performance and usage.
   • Collect and record water samples.
3. Regulate flow
   • Monitor and adjust flow regulating systems to meet demand requirements.
   • Regulate and divert flows to facilitate repair or emergency activities.

Performance Evidence

Evidence required to demonstrate competence must satisfy all of the requirements of the elements and performance criteria. If not otherwise specified the candidate must demonstrate evidence of performance of the following on at least one occasion.
