Elements and Performance Criteria

1. Inspect and monitor catchment operations
   • Schedule routine inspections of catchment areas to identify water quality risks.
   • Collect, analyse and report catchment data.
   • Collect and record water samples.
   • Monitor and report on activities within the catchment area.
   • Select, fit and use required safety equipment, including personal protective equipment.
2. Monitor inflows and outflows
   • Inspect flow regulating systems and determine required adjustments to meet demand.
   • Identify and report flows into, and conditions of, catchment areas.
3. Operate and coordinate catchment processes
   • Identify, address and, if appropriate, report problems within catchment areas.
   • Monitor and coordinate processes to maintain the parameters of operation.
   • Integrate processes to improve source performance.
4. Complete documentation
   • Review and action investigation results.
   • Compile reports from catchment inspections.

Evidence required to demonstrate competence must satisfy all of the requirements of the elements and performance criteria. If not otherwise specified the candidate must demonstrate evidence of performance of the following on at least one occasion.

assessing and reporting on the condition of the catchment area

Knowledge Evidence

Evidence required to demonstrate competence must satisfy all of the requirements of the elements and performance criteria. If not otherwise specified the depth of knowledge demonstrated must be appropriate to the job context of the candidate.
