Elements and Performance Criteria

1. Plan and prepare for dam safety monitoring
   • Identify organisational procedures and guidelines for dam safety monitoring.
   • Identify and apply operational procedures determining the techniques, methods and equipment used for dam safety monitoring.
   • Organise work activities according to workplace requirements and data collection equipment and methods.
2. Conduct dam safety monitoring
   • Implement dam safety monitoring procedures and practices including unusual events.
   • Ensure equipment is functioning and fit for purpose.
   • Record dam instrumentation readings.
   • Recognise and report any monitoring data that may indicate faults or changes outside the expected range.
3. Report on dam safety monitoring
   • Add newly recorded information on dam behaviour to historical monitoring information.
   • Prepare and submit monitoring instrumentation data.
   • Report deviations outside approved limits including potential causes and make recommendations for follow up action.

Performance Evidence

Evidence required to demonstrate competence must satisfy all of the requirements of the elements and performance criteria. If not otherwise specified the candidate must demonstrate evidence of performance of the following on at least one occasion.

Evidence required to demonstrate competence must satisfy all of the requirements of the elements and performance criteria. If not otherwise specified the depth of knowledge demonstrated must be appropriate to the job context of the candidate and/or the AQF level of the qualification being undertaken.
