Elements and Performance Criteria

1. Confirm performance measures
   • Identify water flow, quality and quantity requirements.
   • Identify surveillance and stakeholder requirements.
   • Identify performance measures for the resource and operation.
   • Identify environmental flows that impact on water flows and quality.
2. Monitor and coordinate asset performance
   • Select, fit and use equipment, including personal protective equipment.
   • Apply monitoring and testing programs.
   • Monitor assets to ensure performance meets specifications in management plan.
   • Schedule maintenance programs.
   • Monitor water flows and quality.
   • Coordinate processes to meet plan requirements and targets.
   • Take action to optimise system performance.
3. Finalise work
   • Analyse, record and report coordination and monitoring data.
   • Identify and report current and potential problems.

Performance Evidence

Evidence required to demonstrate competence must satisfy all of the requirements of the elements and performance criteria. If not otherwise specified the candidate must demonstrate evidence of performance of the following on at least one occasion.

interpreting plans, charts and instructions, policies, procedures and standards

using safety equipment and personal protective equipment

identifying and investigating operational problems

monitoring and coordinating the operation of bulkwater systems

identifying system performance measures, stakeholder requirements and environmental factors that may influence performance

implementing monitoring and testing programs

scheduling maintenance

coordinating and optimising system performance

collecting and recording data

producing required reports
