Elements and Performance Criteria

1. Investigate breach of legislation
   • Identify and investigate breaches of legislation.
   • Collect and collate information about breach of legislation.
2. Notify breaches to relevant parties
   • Issue notification of breach of legislation to subjects.
   • Interview subjects and recommend remedial action or further action.
   • Record and collate interview notes and information.
3. Prepare reports and records
   • Prepare clear and concise reports for use in court proceedings according to stakeholder and organisational requirements.
   • Recommend action according to design specifications and organisational requirements.

Performance Evidence

Evidence required to demonstrate competence must satisfy all of the requirements of the elements and performance criteria. If not otherwise specified the candidate must demonstrate evidence of performance of the following on at least one occasion.

using photographic and video cameras

identifying and investigating the source of infiltration and inflows

investigating illegal inflows and discharges

monitoring inflows

identifying control system faults

investigating breaches of specific legislation

identifying and reporting faults

issuing correct notification of the breach to the offender

conducting interviews with offenders and taking notes

reporting all evidence to appropriate organisational personnel with recommendations for action

Knowledge Evidence

Evidence required to demonstrate competence must satisfy all of the requirements of the elements and performance criteria. If not otherwise specified the depth of knowledge demonstrated must be appropriate to the job context of the candidate.
