Elements and Performance Criteria
- Prepare for work.
- Prepare storage facilities.
- Identify contents of each container in the facility
- Recognise container types for each product being stored
- Identify leakage and other problems with storage facility
- Confirm safety systems are operational (where required)
- Carry out general housekeeping of facility to remove foreign matter or hazards
- Record and/or communicate identified maintenance requirements.
- Operate conveyor systems.
- Identify the type of conveyor/feeder
- Identify the storage container(s) required to supply or store particulates
- Set up routing of conveyor systems to meet requirements
- Start up and shut down conveyor/feeder according to the conveyor type and duty
- Complete routine checks, logs and paperwork, taking action on unexpected observations, readings and trends
- Convey correct material from and to correct location as required.
- Operate fan/blower if appropriate.
- Manage particulates storage facility.
- Monitor quality and quantity of stored solids
- Identify and deal with product contamination
- Transfer stock into, out of or between storage units as required
- Supply customers with correct quality and quantity in a timely manner
- Make effective use of available storage capacity
- Monitor storage facility for actual or potential problems likely to affect the efficient operation of the facility.
- Isolate and de-isolate plant.
