Elements and Performance Criteria
- Plan own work requirements.
- Identify equipment and processes to be used for production process and upstream and downstream operations from production plan or request.
- Identify and check materials required including additives.
- Implement measures to control identified hazards in line with procedures and duty of care.
- Identify and check emergency stops, guards and controls.
- Identify requirements for materials, quality, production and equipment checks.
- Identify materials, waste management and housekeeping needs.
- Set up equipment, mould and materials to procedures.
- Determine equipment requirements.
- Adjust controls as required for factors such as ambient conditions, temperature and materials.
- Check equipment, raw material and mould all match job requirements.
- Check materials, resins, fibres, release agents are correct.
- Take appropriate action for non-conforming materials.
- Set up date, batch and materials markings to specifications, as required.
- Complete pre-start checks.
- Hand operate chopper gun/depositor.
- Use chopper gun/depositor to apply materials to the mould to procedures.
- Monitor product quality, thickness, colour and integrity.
- Make adjustments to remedy faults and non-conformances as required.
- Collect and segregate scrap, trim and other materials as required.
- Shut off machine safely and correctly as required following procedures.
- Anticipate and solve problems.
- Recognise a problem or a potential problem..
- Determine problems needing priority action.
- Refer problems outside area of responsibility to appropriate person, with possible causes.
- Solve problems within area of responsibility.
- Seek information and assistance as required to solve problems
- Follow through items initiated until final resolution has occurred.
