Elements and Performance Criteria

1. Open injury management case files
   • Open case files.
   • Record comprehensive details of claims.
   • File all documents and other materials relating to claims.
   • Control access to and security of case files.
2. Maintain injury management case files
   • Meet correspondence, documentation, recordkeeping and reporting requirements.
   • Document and record all actions relating to cases.
   • Complete information on files and include supporting information for any decisions or actions.
   • Maintain case files to a standard that allows them to meet evidentiary requirements of tribunals and courts.
3. Close injury management case files
   • Complete all outstanding actions.
   • Confirm medical closure and check required documents for completeness before adding to file.
   • Finalise arrangements for any lump sum payment for non-economic loss.
   • Discontinue weekly payments and deal with outstanding accounts.
   • Undertake record closure and archive files.
   • Carry out reconciliation of payments.

Performance Evidence

Evidence required to demonstrate competence must satisfy all of the requirements of the elements and performance criteria. If not otherwise specified the candidate must demonstrate evidence of performance of the following on at least one occasion.

using written communications, including correspondence, file notes, meeting notes

Knowledge Evidence

Evidence required to demonstrate competence must satisfy all of the requirements of the elements and performance criteria. If not otherwise specified the depth of knowledge demonstrated must be appropriate to the job context of the candidate.
