- Protect the safety and welfare of people and horses.
- Provide pre-exercise care of horses.
- Apply basic riding skills.
- Horse is warmed up according to instructions.
- Horse is saddled with designated gear .
- Horse is mounted in accordance with supervisor's instructions.
- Aids are identified and used to control movement, speed and direction of a horse at walk, trot and canter.
- Basic riding instructions are followed.
- Balanced riding position is maintained in English style saddle.
- Horse is dismounted in accordance with supervisor's instructions.
- Goals to improve riding skills are discussed and demonstrated with supervisor.
- Provide post-exercise care of horses.
