- Plan and prepare
- Access, interpret and apply compliance documentation relevant to the work activity
- Obtain and confirm safety requirements from the site safety plan and organisational policies and procedures, and apply to the allotted task
- Identify, obtain and implement signage requirements from the project traffic management plan
- Select plant, tools and equipment to carry out tasks consistent with the requirements of the job, check for serviceability and rectify or report any faults
- Identify environmental protection requirements from the project environmental management plan, and confirm and apply to the allotted task
- Conduct pre-operational checks
- Check/inflate tyres using safe procedures and in accordance with operator's manual and site conditions
- Determine risk and hazard for safe operation
- Carry out start up, shutdown and communications procedures
- Check road marking plant controls and functions, including brakes and manoeuvrability for serviceability, and report faults
- Operate long line road marking plant
- Manage engine power to ensure efficiency of plant movements and to minimise damage to the engine and gears
- Position vehicle correctly prior to marking run to enable uninterrupted flow of road marking material
- Maintain control and alignment on marking run
- Apply road marking material to the surface providing an even coverage
- Park and secure vehicle in accordance with manufacturer's specifications, company procedures and legal requirements
- Carry out driver maintenance
- Conduct inspection and fault finding in accordance with manufacturer's specifications and site requirements
- Select appropriate replacement parts and materials
- Remove worn or defective parts safely according to manufacturer's manual and appropriate OHS regulations
- Carry out routine operational servicing and lubrication tasks
- Carry out minor maintenance
- Record operator maintenance work in line with company policy and industry guidelines
