Elements and Performance Criteria
- Plan and prepare to assemble a temporary modular bridge
- Access, interpret and apply temporary modular bridge documentation and ensure the work activity is compliant
- Obtain, interpret, clarify and confirm work instructions before proceeding
- Confirm and apply environmental protection and safety requirements
- Obtain, interpret and implement traffic management signage requirements
- Select and check for faults plant, tools and equipment to carry out tasks
- Select and wear correct personal protective equipment appropriate for work activities
- Identify, confirm, safely handle and locate, ready for work, materials required for the work application
- Identify, address and report hazards, risks and environmental issues
- Obtain and interpret emergency procedures, and be prepared for fire/accident/emergency
- Assemble temporary bridge components
- Assess condition of components for acceptable use and discard faulty parts
- Compile components and check inventory
- Mark location points for high capacity panelling
- Select required resources, materials and equipment
- Sequence assembly process prior to commencement
- Assemble interlocking components using connections and fittings
- Re-check completed assembly
- Launch temporary bridge
- Set out starting approach site
- Set out arrival approach site with the receiving bearing
- Position temporary bridge on the starting approach
- Fit launching nose, inclined upwards, to the first module
- Set up launching pad on the starting approach
- Roll out temporary bridge by winching or pushing
- Cantilever temporary bridge modules, calculated at an angle to achieve reaching the arrival approach, and launch
- Fit launching nose and end module to the receiving bearings at the arrival approach
- Disassemble temporary bridge components
- Sequence disassembly process prior to commencement
- Select required resources, materials and equipment
- Disassemble interlocking components including connections and fittings
- Compile components and check inventory
- Assemble condition of components for acceptable use and discard faulty parts
- Store components
- Clean up
