Performance Evidence

Evidence is required to be collected that demonstrates a candidate’s competency in this unit. Evidence must be relevant to the roles within this sector’s work operations and satisfy all of the requirements of the performance criteria of this unit and include evidence that the candidate:

locates and applies applicable documentation, policies and procedures

implements the requirements, procedures and techniques for the safe, effective and efficient installing of cure in-place linings for existing pipeline systems including:

selecting and using the required tools and equipment

determining site conditions and locating underground utilities

preparing exit and entry pits

undertaking confined space entry

identifying and selecting resin impregnated liners

monitoring installation process and the finished product

works effectively with others to undertake and complete the installation of cure in-place linings for existing pipeline systems that meets all of the required outcomes including:

using a range of communication techniques and equipment to convey information to others

maintaining written and verbal reporting requirements and procedures

organising work activities to meet all task requirements

demonstrates completion of installing cure in-place linings for existing pipeline systems that safely, effectively and efficiently meets all of the required outcomes on more than one (1) occasion including:

completing a minimum of two (2) cure in-place linings for existing pipeline systems

identifying, obtaining, confirming and applying work, safety and signage instructions and requirements

cleaning, checking, maintaining and storing plant, tools and equipment


Knowledge Evidence

The candidate must demonstrate knowledge in installing cure in-place linings for existing pipeline systems through:

organisation and site requirements and procedures for:

work health and safety

operating equipment

confined space entry

operations, maintenance and basic diagnostics

project quality management

installing cure in-place linings

laser control equipment techniques

manual handling techniques

remote units

engineering drawings, plans and specifications

equipment types, characteristics, technical capabilities and limitations

site isolation and traffic control responsibilities

safety data sheets and materials handling methods

pipeline systems
