Performance Evidence

Evidence is required to be collected that demonstrates a candidate’s competency in this unit. Evidence must be relevant to the roles within this sector’s work operations and satisfy all of the requirements of the performance criteria of this unit and include evidence that the candidate:

locates and applies applicable documentation, policies and procedures

implements the requirements, procedures and techniques for the safe, effective and efficient supervision of the repair and rehabilitation of underground service using trenchless technology tasks including:

accessing or developing the job plan and making it available to team members

monitoring task performance

ensuring maintenance is carried out and recorded

works effectively with others to supervise the repair and rehabilitation of underground service using trenchless technology that meets all the required outcomes including:

providing clear and timely written and verbal instructions

maintaining written and verbal reporting requirements and procedures

preparing for and conducting briefings, toolbox and site meetings

organising work activities to meet all task requirements

demonstrates completion of the principles for the repair and rehabilitation of underground services using trenchless technology that safely, effectively and efficiently meets all of the required outcomes on more than one (1) occasion including:

ensuring completion of the repair and rehabilitation of underground services operations

monitoring and adjusting work programs where required to achieve outcomes

recommending improvements for safety and efficiency

applying operational techniques, including a minimum of one (1) of the following methods:

on-line replacement

localised repair and sealing

cure in-place lining

spray lining

slip lining

The candidate must demonstrate knowledge in applying the principles for the repair and rehabilitation of underground services using trenchless technology through:

manufacturer’s requirements and procedures

project site soil and geological data

soil and rock types

meteorological data

drainage issues

material properties and test results

project engineering survey information

project plans and drawings

job reports

supervisory and leadership techniques

performance monitoring techniques

set up and use of levelling devices techniques

construction offsets developing workplace relationships

individuals and the team

quantities for the execution of tasks, including:

volumes

grades

percentages

areas

resource consumption figures, including required supply rates

renovation of large diameter pipes and chambers techniques

engineering survey principles

relationships between various areas of civil works

mentoring techniques
