Elements and Performance Criteria
- Plan and prepare for dragline operations
- Access, interpret and apply dragline operations documentation and ensure the work activity is compliant
- Obtain, read, interpret, clarify and confirm work requirements
- Identify and address risks, hazards and environmental issues and implement control measures
- Select and wear personal protective equipment appropriate for work activities
- Access, interpret and apply geological and survey data required to complete allocated work
- Select, and check for faults, equipment and/or attachments for work activities
- Obtain and interpret emergency procedures, and be prepared for fire/accident/emergency
- Relocate burden and materials
- Coordination activities with others at the site prior to commencement of, and during the work activity
- Conduct pre-start, start-up, park-up, shutdown and secure equipment procedures
- Drive and operate dragline, and modify the operating technique to meet changing work conditions
- Operate controls to position, fill and dump burden/materials
- Act on or report monitoring systems and alarms
- Continually monitor hazards and risks, and ensure safety of self, other personnel, plant and equipment
- Complete work plan within the operating capacity of the equipment
- Relocate dragline
- Carry out operator maintenance
- Conduct housekeeping activities
