- Plan and prepare work
- Receive, interpret and clarify shift changeover details
- Communicate with other personnel
- Check and test remote control and monitoring systems for correct operation
- Select appropriate type of auxiliary equipment for work activities and check for availability
- Identify, address and report potential risks and hazards
- Identify, address and report environmental issues
- Follow emergency procedures to ensure safety of personnel and plant
- Use approved dust suppression and extraction methods
- Ventilate work area before entry
- Start-up equipment in sequence
- Operate and monitor equipment
- Take and interpret data from indicator readings to determine filtering efficiency
- Continuously monitor plant and identify defects and potential problems
- Adjust equipment to approved operating parameters to optimise performance, maintain efficient filtering and to meet product quality targets
- Control feed to equipment
- Monitor moisture in cake and density of filtrate
- Monitor cleaning processes
- Monitor and maintain air systems to specified moisture parameters
- Maintain cleanliness of pressure/vacuum systems
- Complete all required documentation clearly, concisely and on time
- Pass on end of shift information to oncoming shift
- Shutdown in sequence and/or isolate equipment
