Elements and Performance Criteria
- Inspect site
- Unload/load crane from/onto float
- Vehicle is inspected and checked prior to unloading
- Pre-operational checks are conducted in accordance with manufacturer instructions and workplace procedures
- Float is positioned on site in designated loading/unloading area noting ground conditions, and potential and identified site hazards
- Lashings, chains, stabilisers and chocks are safely removed, and correctly stowed and secured in designated areas
- Loading ramps are secured
- Crane is driven on/off float ensuring no injury to personnel or damage to equipment and site
- Crane is stabilised, shut down and secured
- Secure crane for travel
- Weight and dimensions of crane are established and compared to carrying capacity of vehicle
- Crane is correctly positioned on float
- Crane is secured using appropriate securing equipment and is shackled to anchorage points in accordance with workplace/float securing system and manufacturer specifications
- Securing equipment is tightened to ensure security during travel
- Ramps are loaded and secured
- Documentation is completed in accordance with workplace procedures
