Elements and Performance Criteria
- Identify risks and plan operation
- Cleaning operation requirements are assessed
- Potential risks or hazards to self, the environment or others are identified
- Relevant information including workplace procedures and health & safety codes are identified, read and clarified as required
- Cleaning and personal protective equipment and consumables are identified
- Requirements are assembled in accordance with national regulations, standards, safety codes and workplace procedures
- Work is planned identifying critical parameters of the work
- Clean required enclosed space
- Unauthorised persons are removed from the work area
- Engineering and personal safety equipment is used
- Unwanted labels are removed
- Cleaning products are mixed in accordance with manufacturer’s and workplace instructions as required
- Containers are swept out and washed so that mud, grime and residue from products stored in the containers are removed
- Security of chemicals and equipment is maintained
- Run-off is contained and waste is disposed of in accordance with local laws and workplace procedures
- Relevant documentation is completed
- Equipment used for the process is checked and stored
