Elements and Performance Criteria
- Assess emergencies or abnormal situations
- Emergencies, potential emergencies or abnormal situations are identified and needs are prioritised in accordance with organisational and/or network emergency response plans and procedures
- Hazards are identified, risks are assessed and control measures are implemented
- Implications of the emergency, potential emergency or abnormal situation are evaluated in accordance with organisational and/or network requirements and procedures
- Respond to emergencies or abnormal situations
- Potential actions are considered in accordance with organisational and/or network procedures and regulatory requirements
- Relevant personnel are alerted to the emergency, potential emergency or abnormal situation in accordance with organisational and/or network emergency procedures and plans
- Communications are maintained with relevant personnel to determine appropriate course of action
- Response is taken in accordance with organisational and/or network procedures, received instructions from relevant personnel, regulatory requirements and emergency response plan
- Safety incidents and emergencies are handled appropriately in accordance with established response plan and within limits of responsibility and duty of care
- Information is provided to relevant emergency service personnel in accordance with regulatory and organisational and/or network procedures
- Complete incident reports
- Required incident reporting procedures and processes are confirmed
- Incident reports are filled in legibly and proofread
- Incident reports are processed in accordance with regulatory requirements and organisational and/or network procedures
