Elements and Performance Criteria
- Follow workplace procedures for hazard identification and risk control
- Workplace procedures for dealing with environmental incidents, accidents, fires and emergencies are identified and followed
- Workplace procedures for WHS/OHS, environmental and related work instructions for controlling risks in a workplace are identified and followed
- Hazards in the workplace are identified and appropriate action is taken to report them and to minimise or eliminate risk to personnel, workplace and the environment
- Safety regulations and established workplace safety and hazard control practices and procedures are obtained, interpreted and applied to daytoday work activities
- Hazard and risk control documentation is completed in accordance with organisational requirements as required
- Personal protective clothing and equipment is correctly used in accordance with established safety practices and procedures as required
- Established emergency and contingency plans are followed in an emergency
- Information on workplace WHS/OHS and environmental policies, procedures and programs is stored in a readily accessible location and manner
- Contribute to arrangements for managing WHS/OHS
- WHS/OHS issues and identified safety hazards are raised with designated personnel in accordance with workplace procedures and relevant WHS/OHS legislation
- Contributions to managing WHS/OHS in the workplace are made in accordance with workplace procedures and provisions of relevant legislation
- WHS/OHS issues are raised with designated personnel in accordance with workplace procedures and relevant WHS/OHS legislation
- Participative arrangements for managing WHS/OHS in the workplace are contributed to within workplace procedures, scope of responsibilities and competencies
- Implement environmental control procedures
- Environmental protection measures are implemented or applied in accordance with organisational policies and procedures
- Identified improvements to existing procedures are passed on to appropriate personnel
- WHS/OHS and environmental records and reports are completed in accordance with organisational requirements
- Personal protective equipment (PPE) is correctly used in accordance with established safety practices and procedures as required
