Elements and Performance Criteria
- Prepare for camping tour
- Camping equipment requirements are identified and obtained
- All equipment is checked for serviceability and damage prior to tour commencement
- Damaged items are repaired or replaced in accordance with workplace procedures
- Consumables required for tour are determined and obtained in accordance with workplace procedures prior to tour commencement
- Oversee camp site establishment
- Camp site hazards are identified and required action is taken to minimise, control or eliminate identified hazards
- Suitable, level camp site is selected
- Unloading of equipment, and erecting and commissioning camping equipment is supervised
- Appropriate arrangements are made with host/cook for meals and other services during camping activity
- Participants are advised of health and safety requirements and precautions including safe use of fires
- Vacate camp site
