Elements and Performance Criteria

  1. Manage the provision of special freight transport services
  2. Manage and organise international freight forwarding projects
  3. Manage and organise the forwarding of dangerous goods
  4. Monitor and track the international forwarding of special cargo and dangerous goods
  5. Complete all required forms and documentation

Performance Evidence

Evidence required to demonstrate competence in this unit must be relevant to and satisfy all of the requirements of the elements and performance criteria on at least one occasion and include:

applying relevant codes of practice and legislative requirements including those applicable to special international freight transport services and the international transport of dangerous goods

applying risk management strategies and implementing contingency plans when providing special international freight transport services and organising international transport of dangerous goods

completing documentation related to providing special international freight transport services, including data entry for information technology system

identifying, reporting and/or rectifying identified problems and issues promptly, in accordance with regulatory requirements and workplace procedures

managing, organising and monitoring:

international forwarding of dangerous and hazardous goods

special forwarding projects

special international freight transport services & cargoes

operating and adapting to differences in equipment and systems in accordance with standard operating procedures

operating information and communications technology equipment to required protocol

reading and interpreting relevant instructions, procedures, information and labels

selecting and using required personal protective equipment conforming to industry and work health and safety (WHS)/occupational health and safety (OHS) standards.
