Elements and Performance Criteria

1. Prepare to solve electrical problems on remote community network apparatus
   • Work health and safety (WHS)/occupational health and safety (OHS) workplace procedures for a given work area are obtained and confirmed
2. Hazards are identified, WHS/OHS risks assessed and control measures identified in accordance with workplace procedures
3. Nature of circuit(s) problem is obtained from documentation or from work supervisor to establish the scope of work to be undertaken
4. Advice is sought from relevant personnel to ensure work is coordinated effectively with others
5. Materials required for work are identified and obtained in accordance with workplace procedures
6. Plant, equipment, tools, testing devices and personal protective equipment (PPE) required for work are identified, obtained and confirmed in working order
7. Solve electrical problems on network apparatus in a remote community
   • WHS/OHS, sustainable energy and environmental principles and practices are monitored and followed to reduce incidents in accordance with workplace procedures
8. Need to test or measure live electrical components is determined in accordance with workplace procedures
9. Circuits are checked and isolated in accordance with job requirements and workplace procedures
10. Established methods are used to solve electrical problems from measured and calculated values as they apply to remote community network apparatus
11. Unplanned events in the solving of electrical problems in remote community network apparatus are responded to in accordance with workplace procedures
12. Problems are solved without damage to apparatus, circuits, the surrounding environment or services in accordance with sustainable energy practices and workplace procedures
13. Complete work and document problem solving activities
    • WHS/OHS and environmental incidents are reported in accordance with workplace procedures, as required
14. Worksite is cleaned and made safe in accordance with workplace procedures
15. Justification for solutions used to solve circuit problems is documented in accordance with workplace procedures
16. Work completion is documented and appropriate personnel notified in accordance with workplace procedures
