This qualification covers the skills and knowledge required to perform a range of service and repair tasks on outdoor power equipment. It is suitable for entry into the outdoor power equipment retail, service and repair industry.

The AUR30711 Certificate III in Outdoor Power Equipment is intended to prepare new employees or recognise and develop existing workers performing service and repair roles in the outdoor power equipment retail, service and repair industry. Employment outcomes targeted by this qualification include:
outdoor power equipment mechanics
service technicians.
The work may also include tasks related to the operation of the business and/or the supervision of others
This qualification is suitable for an Australian Apprenticeship pathway.

Packaging Rules
To be awarded the Certificate III in Outdoor Power Equipment, competency must be achieved in thirty six (36) units.
four (4) core units of competency
thirty two (32) elective units of competency, as specified below:
a minimum of four (4) specialist elective units from Group A
a maximum of twenty eight (28) elective units, drawn in any combination from:
units not already chosen from Group A
Group B units listed
up to six (6) relevant units available in this Training Package, other endorsed Training Packages and accredited courses, where those units are available at Certificates II, III and IV
a maximum of eighteen (18) elective units of competency may be selected from units aligned to Certificate II qualifications
a maximum of two (2) elective units of competency may be selected from units aligned to Certificate IV qualifications.
Note: Where prerequisite units are identified they must be counted in the total number of units required for completion of the qualification.
The following pairs of units must not be chosen together when achieving this qualification:
Overhaul engines and engine components (outdoor power equipment)
Group B: Other elective units
Complete a maximum of twenty eight (28) units, drawn in any combination from:
units not already chosen from Group A
Group B units listed below
up to six (6) relevant units available in this Training Package, other endorsed Training Packages and accredited courses, where those units are available at Certificates II, III and IV.
The AUR30711 Certificate III in Outdoor Power Equipment may be accessed by direct entry. Credit will be granted towards this qualification to those who have completed AUR20811 Certificate II in Outdoor Power Equipment in this Training Package, or other relevant qualifications.

Further training pathways from this qualification include AUR40105 Certificate IV in Automotive Management, AUR40208 Certificate IV in Automotive Technology, or other relevant qualifications.
