To be awarded the add topic MSS40216 Certificate IV in Environmental Monitoring and Technology, competency must be achieved in a total of sixteen (16) units of competency.

A maximum of three (3) Group B and C electives may be chosen from this Training Package, other endorsed Training Packages and accredited courses, where those units are relevant and available at Certificate IV. This could include relevant units available in add topic AHC10 Agriculture, Horticulture and Conservation and Land Management Training Package.

Units listed under core are considered essential for all environmental assistants. The units listed as electives may only apply to some personnel according to the size and scope of the particular enterprise and industry sector.
