Certificate III in Road Construction and Maintenance

This qualification reflects the role of a skilled operator working in road construction and maintenance, who applies a broad range of skills in a varied work context, using some discretion and judgement and relevant theoretical knowledge. The individual may provide theoretical advice and support a team.

Requirements for completion of the qualification

The following table provides the packaging rules for this qualification, followed by the list of relevant units of competency.

Successful completion of twenty five (25) units of competency made up of:

sixteen (16) mandatory units, and

nine (9) elective units of which:

at least eight (8) must come from the electives listed below, including at least four (4) at AQF 3 level

at least four (4) must be road construction (CRC) units including at least two (2) at Certificate III level

up to one (1) unit may come from Certificate II, Certificate III or Certificate IV level from this, or any other Training Package

Units chosen must be relevant to the job function.

Care must be taken to ensure that all prerequisites specified within imported units, or units chosen as electives, are complied with.
