Requirements for completion of the qualification
The following provides the packaging rules for this qualification, followed by the list of relevant units of competency.
Successful completion of fourteen (14) units of competency made up of:
eight (8) core units, and
six (6) elective units of which:
at least four (4) must be chosen from group A
up to two (2) may be chosen from group B
up to one (2) units may be chosen from Certificate III, Certificate IV or Diploma level from this, or any other Training Package or accredited course
Units chosen must be relevant to the job function.
There are both licensed and non-licensed units of competency relating to high risk work in the Resources and Infrastructure Industry Training Package. To be appointed under any statutory requirements in related roles, units of competency should be demonstrated to meet the state/territory licensing requirements.
Note that there are prerequisites to imported units listed in this qualification.

Rig up and rig down for well servicing
Participate in well servicing nippling-up and pressure test
Conduct fishing operations
Carry out well control and blow out prevention
Apply risk management processes
Apply Blow Out Prevention operational procedures
Apply and monitor surface operations emergency preparedness and response procedures
Manage oil and gas drilling equipment maintenance
Conduct well servicing milling operations
Issue work permits
Prerequisite unit: RIIRIS201B Conduct local risk control
Coordinate air drilling operations
Manage non-routine, complex technical situations
Provide work skill instruction
Provide first aid
