CERTIFICATE II IN TRANSPORT DISTRIBUTION (MARITIME OPERATIONS)

Rationale: A flexible qualification at AQF Level2 not specifically aligned with regulated maritime occupations but which includes competency in basic maritime safety, survival and emergency skills as well as other skills needed to fulfil support roles on various types of costal vessels.

Successful completion will require competency in units that relate to work defined as aligned at AQF Level2:

'Performance of a prescribed range of functions involving known routines and procedures and some accountability for the quality of outcomes. Applications may include some complex or non-routine activities involving individual responsibility or autonomy and/or collaboration with others as part of a group or team'.

A successful outcome of sixteen units of competency which must include:

the seven mandatory units listed below, plus

at least nine additional units (at least seven of which must be aligned at AQF Level2) to specific additional maritime employment needs beyond the minimum mandatory requirements.
