Statement of Attainment

This skill set meets industry requirements as specified in the DEF12 Defence Training Package for work in the area of establishing and managing a field kitchen.


Readers should ensure that they have also read the part of the Training Package that outlines licensing and regulatory requirements.


Field kitchen managers are required to establish and run a mobile kitchen facility in a field environment.

This Skill Set was designed for field kitchens in an operational environment that would be encountered in Defence operations and disaster sites but could be equally applicable to field kitchens in other settings such fetes and markets.

This Skill Set does not cover the cooking /catering skills which are available in the SIT07 Tourism, Hospitality and Events Training Package.

The person completing this work would typically be a cook, but might also be an allied worker such as steward, or 'front counter' worker.
