This skill set has been endorsed by industry for workers who hold a qualification at Diploma level or higher in Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Primary Health Care (Practice)

It provides a set of skills for the support and management of people with chronic kidney disease (CKD)

Application of this skill set is only appropriate under the supervision of a relevant health professional and as a member of the health care team

This skill set provides a for Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander health workers to specialise in the provision of renal care

HLTAHW606B Manage medicines in Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander health care

HLTRNL601C Support the client with chronic kidney disease

HLTRNL602C Provide support and management of the client undergoing peritoneal dialysis therapy

HLTRNL603C Provide care and support to client in renal replacement therapy in community setting

HLTRNL604C Provide support and management of the client undergoing haemodialysis therapy

These units may provide credit towards HLT52107 Diploma of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Primary Health Care (Practice) or HLT61207 Advanced Diploma of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Primary Health Care (Practice).
