  • Job instructions and quality requirements are located and confirmed with appropriate personnel
  • Tools and equipment required for the job are selected and checked for faults and correct operation
  • Materials required to complete the job are identified and prepared
       
Element: Select and check machining tools
  • Machining tools are selected according to the machine’s maintenance schedule and specifications
  • Machining tools are inspected and tested for compliance with specifications
  • Out-of-specification tools are processed for repair or disposal according to workplace procedures
  • Machining tools are cleaned, prepared for use, and protected for transit
