Learning Outcomes and Application | This unit of competency specifies the outcomes required to research and apply compliance requirements to building design documentation for residential, commercial and industrial buildings, as defined in the Building Code of Australia (BCA). The unit applies to additions and renovations to a range of different types of new buildings and existing structures. It supports drafters who assist, and work under the supervision and instruction of an architect or building designer; and who take responsibility, at the level appropriate to their role, for ensuring that building design documentation complies with current and relevant legislation, codes and standards, including the National Construction Code (NCC) and local authority planning schemes.Licensing, legislative, regulatory or certification requirements apply to building design drafting in some states. Relevant state and territory regulatory authorities should be consulted to confirm those requirements. | ||
