Learning Outcomes and Application | This unit of competency specifies the outcomes required to produce two-dimensional (2-D) drawings from instructions, sketches, drawings and plans for design projects using computer-aided design (CAD) software. It requires knowledge of Australian standards and drawing protocols to ensure the drawings produced and notations included conform to those standards and protocols.The unit supports the production of 2-D building design drawings for residential, commercial and industrial building design projects. It applies to all construction industry personnel who are required to produce 2-D building design drawings using CAD software.Licensing, legislative, regulatory or certification requirements apply to this unit of competency in some States. Relevant state and territory regulatory authorities should be consulted to confirm those requirements. | ||
Duration and Setting | X weeks, nominally xx hours, delivered in a classroom/online/blended learning setting. The following must be present and available to learners during assessment activities: equipment: computer with two different types of 2-D CAD software file management system contingencies: incompatible files supplied for importing into 2-D CAD drawing specifications: 2-D CAD software user manual details of drawings required AS 1100.101 Technical drawing – General principles AS 1100.301 Technical drawing – Architectural drawing. Timeframe: according to project schedule. Assessor requirements As a minimum, assessors must satisfy the assessor requirements in the Standards for Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) current at the time of assessment. |
