Learning Outcomes and Application | This unit of competency specifies the outcomes required to work effectively as a swimming pool and spa technician. It covers the basic entry-level functions that enable compliance with legislative requirements and industry and enterprise ethical standards and codes of conduct. It requires the ability to work independently, identify workplace risks, and be aware of the environmental regulations and employment arrangements that apply to swimming pool and spa technicians.The unit supports the work of those engaged in servicing domestic, commercial and public swimming pools and spas. It applies to entry-level swimming pool and spa technicians.No licensing, legislative, regulatory, or certification requirements apply to this unit of competency at the time of endorsement. | ||
Duration and Setting | X weeks, nominally xx hours, delivered in a classroom/online/blended learning setting. The following must be present and available to learners during assessment activities: equipment: computer system with internet access and printer to access the material specified below materials: workplace policies and procedures specified in the knowledge evidence workplace safety and risk identification procedures legislation, Australian standards, Australian Competition and Consumer Commission product safety guidelines, and ethical and conduct standards relevant to the swimming pool and spa servicing industry. Assessment activities are performed on an individual basis under general supervision. Assessor requirements As a minimum, assessors must satisfy the assessor requirements in the Standards for Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) current at the time of assessment. |
