Learning Outcomes and Application This unit describes the skills required to assess the needs of young offenders in custody and organise their care and protection.This unit applies to those working with young offenders requiring special supervision in detention.The skills and knowledge described in this unit must be applied within the legislative, regulatory and policy environment in which they are carried out. Organisational policies and procedures must be consulted and adhered to, particularly those related to interaction with young offenders and allocation of offenders to programs.Those undertaking this unit work with moderate support in roles involving routine tasks with a number of familiar steps.No licensing, legislative or certification requirements apply to unit at the time of publication.
