Learning Outcomes and Application This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to use technology effectively in making music for the music, screen, media and entertainment industries.It applies to individuals who work in a range of music production environments and use music technology as a primary tool for their music making.No licensing, legislative or certification requirements apply to this unit at the time of publication.
Duration and Setting X weeks, nominally xx hours, delivered in a classroom/online/blended learning setting.

Assessment must be conducted in a safe environment where evidence gathered demonstrates consistent performance of typical activities experienced in creative arts industry environments. The assessment environment must include access to:

music production software and equipment suitable for making music

source material, such as audio loops, that has been recorded/created to a professional standard

interaction with others.

Assessors of this unit must satisfy the requirements for assessors in applicable vocational educational and training legislation, frameworks and/or standards.

  • Use appropriate sources of information to identify various artists, musical genres and styles that incorporate music technology, and discuss with relevant people
  • Research and discuss the use of technology for music making in a range of music productions
