Employability Skills
Learning Outcomes and Application This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to seek ideas for own creative work by collecting and reviewing information; and then to use those ideas and creative techniques safely to develop that work. The creative work may be an oral, aural, visual or performance piece.It applies to individuals who, with the help, feedback and supervision of key people, integrate ideas and techniques in any creative context to produce creative work in any form.No licensing, legislative or certification requirements apply to this unit at the time of publication.
Duration and Setting X weeks, nominally xx hours, delivered in a classroom/online/blended learning setting.

Assessment must be conducted in a safe environment where evidence gathered demonstrates consistent performance of typical activities experienced in creative arts industry environments. The assessment environment must include access to:

tools, equipment and materials necessary to apply techniques for creative work

studio and/or workshop facilities.

Assessors of this unit must satisfy the requirements for assessors in applicable vocational educational and training legislation, frameworks and/or standards.

Evidence of the ability to:

find ideas to inform own creative oral, aural, visual or performance work through a process of collecting, organising and reviewing information

develop creative work, using basic techniques and tools, equipment and materials safely and sustainably

seek feedback and help from key people during creative process.

Note: If a specific volume or frequency is not stated, then evidence must be provided at least once.

To complete the unit requirements safely and effectively, the individual must:

identify different types of information sources that provide ideas for creative work

describe basic creative techniques relevant to the creative work being developed

describe practical safety issues relevant to work in chosen form and creative context, and appropriate responses to mitigate them

describe procedures for recycling and disposing of material used in the creative process.

Assessment Tasks
