Employability Skills
Learning Outcomes and Application This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to document the conception, development and progress of own creative work.It applies to individuals who work in all areas of creative practice, and the work being documented could be created in any medium. Documentation could be for personal use, for example as professional development informing future work; or it could be for background information in an exhibition, for research purposes, or to comply with the requirements of a funding body.No licensing, legislative or certification conditions apply to this unit at the time of publication.
Duration and Setting X weeks, nominally xx hours, delivered in a classroom/online/blended learning setting.

Assessment must be conducted in a safe environment where evidence gathered demonstrates consistent performance of typical activities experienced in creative arts industry environments. The assessment environment must include access to:

works requiring documentation

tools, material and technologies used to document work progress.

Assessors of this unit must satisfy the requirements for assessors in applicable vocational educational and training legislation, frameworks and/or standards.

To complete the unit requirements safely and effectively, the individual must:

describe key features of each phase in development of work relevant to documentation:

conceptualisation

experimentation

process or steps

resolution of ideas or problem solving

techniques and materials

outline elements and purposes of different media for the presentation of work documentation

describe ways of recording ideas, processes and the development of work in the relevant area of creative work

discuss intellectual property issues specifically related to sourcing information required to document work progress.
