Learning Outcomes and Application | This unit describes the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to plan close proximity fireworks displays based on client briefs.Individuals who apply these skills work autonomously in a team environment as they take responsibility for planning and designing displays based on client briefs and ensuring that persons involved in displays are properly trained. They may be responsible for supervising others.All elements must be undertaken in accordance with the provisions of relevant state or territory legislation and licensing requirements.Achievement of this unit does not automatically qualify a person to obtain a licence to operate in any Australian State or Territory.Those developing training to support this unit, and those seeking to assess competency in this unit, must consult with the relevant state or territory licensing authority, and work within the requirements and guidelines set down by those authorities.This unit is closely based on work completed by the Queensland Department of Natural Resources and Mines. | ||
Duration and Setting | X weeks, nominally xx hours, delivered in a classroom/online/blended learning setting. Assessment must be conducted in a safe environment where evidence gathered demonstrates consistent performance of typical activities experienced in creative arts industry environments. The assessment environment must include access to: access to: relevant legislative, administrative, and specific technical material and prescribed forms and documents a set of client needs to develop a fireworks display brief a typical client brief for planning a fireworks display practical demonstration of skills in a range of situations. Assessors of this unit must satisfy the requirements for assessors in applicable vocational educational and training legislation, frameworks and/or standards. Significant health and safety issues impact on the delivery and assessment of skills in close proximity pyrotechnics. Assessment of these skills must therefore be undertaken in consultation with state or territory licensing authorities. Assessors must be aware of, and consult with authorities on matters regarding, safety of personnel, safety of crowds and spectators, storage and transportation of pyrotechnic materials, and risks associated with venue conditions. Assessors may need to meet additional requirements where stipulated by state or territory regulations. |
