Employability Skills
Learning Outcomes and Application This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to access relevant historical and theoretical information relevant to one’s own area of creative work.It applies to individuals developing their skills in any area of arts practice. Supervision and guidance would usually be provided.No licensing, legislative or certification conditions apply to this unit at the time of publication.
Duration and Setting X weeks, nominally xx hours, delivered in a classroom/online/blended learning setting.

Assessment must be conducted in a safe environment where evidence gathered demonstrates consistent performance of typical activities experienced in creative arts industry environments. The assessment environment must include access to:

a range of relevant and up-to-date information sources.

Assessors of this unit must satisfy the requirements for assessors in applicable vocational educational and training legislation, frameworks and/or standards.

To complete the unit requirements safely and effectively, the individual must:

list sources of general information on history and theory arts practice and specific information related to own area of practice

outline techniques for organising history and theory information and information specific to own area of work

identify protocols to be observed when gathering information of a culturally sensitive nature

explain intellectual property principles and legislation related to collection and use of information in own work.
