Learning Outcomes and Application | This unit describes the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to plan and undertake the installation of specialist staging equipment for productions in the entertainment and events industries.Individuals who apply these skills work autonomously in a team environment as they take responsibility for ensuring that specialist staging equipment is installed and tested in line with safety standards, prior to performances or events. They may be responsible for supervising others.The National Standard for Licensing Persons Performing High Risk Work applies to persons performing dogging and rigging work. Completion of the following units is required for certification at either basic, intermediate or advanced levels:CPCCLDG3001A Licence to perform doggingCPCCLRG3001A Licence to perform rigging basic levelCPCCLRG3002A Licence to perform rigging intermediate levelCPCCLRG4001A Licence to perform rigging advanced level.Sets and staging for some performances or events may fall within the definition of construction work. If so, people entering a construction site are required to complete the general induction training program specified by the National Code of Practice for Induction for Construction Work (Commonwealth of Australia, 2007).Achievement of the unit ‘CPCCOHS1001A Work safely in the construction industry’ fulfils this requirement. | ||
Duration and Setting | X weeks, nominally xx hours, delivered in a classroom/online/blended learning setting. Assessment must be conducted in a safe environment where evidence gathered demonstrates consistent performance of typical activities experienced in creative arts industry environments. The assessment environment must include access to venues with a fly tower and productions that require specialist staging equipment. Assessors of this unit must satisfy the requirements for assessors in applicable vocational educational and training legislation, frameworks and/or standards. |
