Description | This unit covers the competency required to undertake surveillance patrols as part of a team during land operations in the Australian Defence Force (ADF). A surveillance patrol team consists of up to 10 people (for example an infantry section).Surveillance patrols are conducted to both maintain security and to gain information such as:changes in patterns of normalcycharacteristics of infrastructure and facilitiessign of activitystrength and disposition of threatSurveillance patrolling is carried out in both forward and rear areas to detect, locate, identify and report on threats and to monitor the threat environment. No licensing, legislative, regulatory or certification requirements apply to this unit at the time of publication. In a Defence context, this means that there is no civilian need to hold this unit in order to meet licensing, legislative, regulatory or certification requirements. | ||
