Qualification -
Unit of Competency DEFEXO210 - Manage explosive ordnance engineering and logistics processes
Description
Employability Skills
Learning Outcomes and Application This unit specifies the skills and knowledge required to manage explosive ordnance engineering and logistics processes. It includes identifying and planning explosive ordnance engineering and logistics processes, and feasibility assessments. It also includes managing and concluding engineering and logistics processes. This unit applies to persons who are required to manage explosive ordnance engineering and logistics processes.A manager of explosive ordnance processes will have some autonomy of action, may delegate authority to subordinates and is capable of independent decision making, requiring no supervision. The management of explosive ordnance processes is primarily conducted in installations involved in the storage, distribution and maintenance of explosive ordnance, however it may be performed in research and development establishments, and proof and experimental establishments. The skills and knowledge described in this unit must be applied within the legislative, regulatory and policy environment in which they are carried out. Organisational policies and procedures must be consulted and adhered to.No licensing, legislative or certification requirements apply to this unit at the time of publication.
Duration and Setting X weeks, nominally xx hours, delivered in a classroom/online/blended learning setting.

Assessors must hold credentials specified within the Standards for Registered Training Organisations current at the time of assessment.

Assessment must satisfy the Principles of Assessment and Rules of Evidence and all regulatory requirements included within the Standards for Registered Training Organisations current at the time of assessment.

Assessment must occur in workplace operational situations. Where this is not appropriate, assessment must occur in simulated workplace operational situations that reflect workplace conditions.

Assessment processes and techniques must be appropriate to the language, literacy and numeracy requirements of the work being performed and the needs of the candidate.

Resources for assessment must include access to:

a range of relevant exercises, case studies and/or simulations

acceptable means of simulation assessment

applicable documentation, including workplace procedures, regulations, codes of practice and operation manuals

relevant materials, tools, equipment and PPE currently used in industry.

Assessment Tasks

Copy and paste from the following data to produce each assessment task. Write these in plain English and spell out how, when and where the task is to be carried out, under what conditions, and what resources are needed. Include guidelines about how well the candidate has to perform a task for it to be judged satisfactory.

Range is restricted to essential operating conditions and any other variables essential to the work environment.

Non-essential conditions may be found in the Companion Volume Implementation Guide.

Copy and paste from the following performance criteria to create an observation checklist for each task. When you have finished writing your assessment tool every one of these must have been addressed, preferably several times in a variety of contexts. To ensure this occurs download the assessment matrix for the unit; enter each assessment task as a column header and place check marks against each performance criteria that task addresses.
