Learning Outcomes and Application | This unit of competency describes the outcomes required to work effectively in the forest and wood products industry; including meeting the legal and organisational requirements of the job role, prioritising tasks and learning about the industry and its operations. The unit applies to those working in a broad range of roles and in operations of all sizes, including a forest environment, saw mill, wood chip mill, veneer mill, board/plywood mill, timber treatment plant, downstream processing of timber and forest products sales and service.No licensing, legislative, regulatory, or certification requirements apply to this unit at the time of publication. | ||
Duration and Setting | X weeks, nominally xx hours, delivered in a classroom/online/blended learning setting. The following resources must be made available: job specifications and work order organisational policies and procedures. Competency is to be assessed in the workplace or a simulated environment that accurately reflects performance in a real workplace setting. Assessor requirements Assessors must: hold the appropriate assessor competency standards as outlined in regulations; and be able to demonstrate vocational competencies at least to the level being assessed; and be able to demonstrate how they are continuing to develop their VET knowledge and skills as well as maintaining their industry currency and assessor competence. |
