Learning Outcomes and Application | This unit of competency describes the outcomes required to apply wood and timber product knowledge in the workplace and promote the benefits of wood and timber products to a range of customers and other stakeholders. It involves identifying products and providing accurate information to customers and other stakeholders about those products.The unit applies to Customer Service/Sales Assistant, Sales and Merchandising Team Leader, Timber Advisor. No licensing, legislative, regulatory, or certification requirements apply to this unit at the time of publication. | ||
Duration and Setting | X weeks, nominally xx hours, delivered in a classroom/online/blended learning setting. The following resources must be made available: materials and equipment relevant to applying wood and timber product knowledge: product information from manufacturers and industry stakeholders relevant safety data sheets (SDS) specifications and work instructions relevant to production of wood and timber products in own workplace organisational policies and procedures relevant to applying wood and timber product knowledge relevant personnel for the purposes of communicating information. Competency is to be assessed in the workplace or a simulated environment that accurately reflects performance in a real workplace setting. Assessor requirements Assessors must: hold the appropriate assessor competency standards as outlined in regulations; and be able to demonstrate vocational competencies at least to the level being assessed; and be able to demonstrate how they are continuing to develop their VET knowledge and skills as well as maintaining their industry currency and assessor competence. |
