Learning Outcomes and Application | This unit of competency describes the outcomes required to identify and plan for the rehabilitation requirements of tracks, quarries and landings and to conduct renovation and revegetation operations. The unit also includes the establishment of run-off and drainage channels. The unit applies to those working in commercial harvesting operations, within a forest environment producing forest products. The unit applies to Forestry technician, Forestry Operations supervisor, Mobile plant operator, Harvesting technician.Licensing, legislative, regulatory, or certification requirements apply to this unit in some states & territories at the time of publication, and may differ according to jurisdiction | ||
Duration and Setting | X weeks, nominally xx hours, delivered in a classroom/online/blended learning setting. The following resources must be made available: tracks, quarries or landings requiring rehabilitation machinery and equipment necessary for the rehabilitation, and manufacturer’s instructions for their use dozer front-end loader skidder grader using bucket or blade attachments personal protective equipment necessary for the rehabilitation workplace documentation Competency is to be assessed in the workplace or a simulated environment that accurately reflects performance in a real workplace setting. Assessor requirements Assessors must: hold the appropriate assessor competency standards as outlined in regulations; and be able to demonstrate vocational competencies at least to the level being assessed; and be able to demonstrate how they are continuing to develop their VET knowledge and skills as well as maintaining their industry currency and assessor competence. |
