Learning Outcomes and Application | This unit of competency describes the outcomes required to ensure timber meets compliance requirements for import/export.The unit applies to those who assess timber for import/export requirements in a variety of work settings including: timber harvestingsawmillwoodchip millveneer millboard/plywood milltimber and wood products productiontimber and wood products sales and service.Licensing, legislative, regulatory or certification requirements apply to this unit in some states and territories at the time of publication, and may differ according to state or territory jurisdiction. | ||
Duration and Setting | X weeks, nominally xx hours, delivered in a classroom/online/blended learning setting. The following resources must be made available: timber for import or export relevant personnel for the purposes of communicating information documents, spreadsheets and commonly used proforma documents regulations, workplace requirements and site standards for preparing timber to meet import/export compliance requirements. Competency is to be assessed in the workplace or a simulated environment that accurately reflects performance in a real workplace setting. Assessor requirements Assessors must: hold the appropriate assessor competency standards as outlined in regulations; and be able to demonstrate vocational competencies at least to the level being assessed; and be able to demonstrate how they are continuing to develop their VET knowledge and skills as well as maintaining their industry currency and assessor competence. |
