Learning Outcomes and Application | This unit of competency describes the outcomes required to select and implement appropriate seedbed preparation techniques, and to survey and review the prepared seedbed. Work is completed in a forest environment setting.The unit applies to Arboriculture worker, Farm forestry worker, Forestry worker, Nursery workerPlantation establishment worker, Plantation forest officer, SilviculturistNo licensing, legislative, regulatory, or certification requirements apply to this unit at the time of publication. Where licensing for load shifting or other mobile equipment is required, the relevant units of competency should also be accessed and are to be met concurrently or prior to the achievement of this unit. | ||
Duration and Setting | X weeks, nominally xx hours, delivered in a classroom/online/blended learning setting. The following resources must be made available: site for seedbed preparation tools and equipment used to prepare seedbeds personal protective equipment suitable for seedbed preparation work order with specific instructions for seedbed preparation documents, spreadsheets and commonly used proformas for recording site preparation plans, survey results, preparation processes and suggestions for improvements relevant personnel for the purposes of communicating information organisational procedures for seedbed preparation. Competency is to be assessed in the workplace or a simulated environment that accurately reflects performance in a real workplace setting. Assessor requirements Assessors must: hold the appropriate assessor competency standards as outlined in regulations; and be able to demonstrate vocational competencies at least to the level being assessed; and be able to demonstrate how they are continuing to develop their VET knowledge and skills as well as maintaining their industry currency and assessor competence |
